The college adheres to the programme outcomes, program-specific results, and course outcomes indicated in the syllabus document of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai for all B.Ed. and M.Ed. programmes because of its affiliation with that institution.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE B. Ed. PROGRAMME

  • The goal is to help future educators better understand how to combine subject matter knowledge, human growth, pedagogical understanding, and effective communication.
  • Improve student's ability to internalise the values and goals of the Indian nation as set forth in the country's constitution.
  • To play a role in bringing about progress and change in society.
  • In an effort to strengthen communities, promote international understanding, and protect basic human and child rights.
  • To mature into skilful and committed experts who are eager to carry out the assigned work.
  • To use the talents and skills necessary for being an effective educator in both a traditional and an inclusive setting.
  • To comprehend, develop, and implement diverse educational evaluation processes.
  • To be a sensitive student teacher regarding rising issues such as environment, population, gender equality, legal literacy, critical ICT comprehension, yoga education, etc.

PROGRAMME OUTCOME FOR B.Ed.

Upon successful completion of the two-year B.Ed. programme, student teachers will be able to develop the following teaching competencies: understanding of paradigm shift in conceptualising disciplinary knowledge in school curriculum, necessary competencies for organising learning experiences, and the ability to select and implement appropriate assessment strategies to facilitate learning. He /she will be able in using teaching techniques and addressing classroom issues. Developing a system of education that promotes the capacity of each learner to acquire, retain, and transform knowledge, leading to a society of wisdom, through creative, experiential, and enjoyable modes of teaching. Transform the educational landscape by offering open access to quality, value based and socially relevant education to all by harnessing the disruptive potential of AI. Curriculum Analysis, Blueprint Construction, Choosing Appropriate Teaching Strategies Based on Student Needs, and Conducting Action Research to Solve Classroom Problems.
Presenting seminar before peer students and teachers and practicing communication skills through various linguistic activities and applying it for better classroom communication. Recognizing differences and addressing them in inclusive classroom environments and guidance and counselling programmes for children with disabilities. The student teacher will understand various ideals, morality, and social service, and accept social duty.
Course Outcomes (COs): This describes the information and abilities that a teacher-trainee obtains by the end of the B. Ed and M.Ed. courses. It describes the cognitive processes offered by the course.

  • Teachers interact with students and collect their feedback following each session. The student discloses any learning issues in an open manner. The purpose of assignments is to improve the quality of the course material. To improve quality, internal examinations and classroom assessments are conducted. Student performance is represented by their test scores. Teaching in schools provides them enough opportunities to hone their instructional skills.
  • By completing a school internship, students will be able to comprehend the development in physical, cognitive, social, and emotional domains, contemporary issues and educational policies of the education system in India, teaching-learning methods, strategies, epistemological basis of education, school management, professional ethics, and observation of school activities.
  • Understanding individual differences among pupils, measuring achievement, evaluating progress, and assessing learning capacities, implementing guidance programmes and utilising ICT-based psychological instruments Communication and instruction and lesson preparation.
  • Utilizing ICT and its various tools and applications, practise teaching in schools and instil authentic classroom and online teaching experiences in students from remote places.
  • Understand the diversity in the classroom and equip them to work with varied students in inclusive classroom setup, education for human rights and women's empowerment, environmental education, and online content development.
  • Understand the fundamental ideas and concepts of educational theory.
  • Develop a knowledge and perspective of the learner's nature, diversity, and learning.
  • Understand the operation of the governing systems and structural-functional provisions that support school education.
  • Develop knowledge in teaching, pedagogy, school administration, and community engagement.
